Sony Ericsson platform

From Legacy Portable Computing Wiki

Sony Ericsson Platform refers to the A100 and A200 hardware and software platforms developed by Ericsson and used by Sony Ericsson feature phones from 2004 to 2011. It is the successor of the Ericsson T28 platform.

This page does not cover the various ODM platforms used in cheaper Sony Ericsson models, for example the Sagem ODM platform / S1 Neptune.

Ericsson chipsets were also used in other manufacturers' phones, so for a list of all phones that use Ericsson chipsets, please visit Ericsson systems-on-chip.

A100

The A100 platform, also known as A1, was introduced in 2004 and was used until about 2008. It uses the DB2xxx series of chipsets, though some phones use the PNX5230.

DB2000

The DB2000 was the first A100 chipset and it supports UMTS networks.

This chipset is used by Symbian UIQ 3.x phones. It is sometimes considered part of the A100 platform, but doesn't use the A100 software platform.

It uses the Philips Nexperia PNX4008 (208MHz ARM926EJ) application processor.

DB2010

The DB2010 only supports 2G networks.
