Nokia E70, front

The Nokia E70 (type RM-10, codenamed Zeus 3G) is a business smartphone announced in October 2005 and released in May 2006 along with the E60 and E61. These three phones were the first in Nokia's Eseries lineup of business oriented Symbian phones.

The E70 features the same unique fold-out keyboard as the earlier Nokia 68xx series of feature phones. The front of the phone has the usual 12-key phone keypad, but opening it reveals a full 5-row QWERTY keyboard. It uses a joystick for navigation, similar to other Eseries phones of the time.

Nokia marketed the E70 as a powerful all-in-one messaging device, with support for BlackBerry Connect and several other corporate email providers, as well as compatibility with common office tools. It is also one of the few Symbian phones with a 352 × 416 resolution, which was two times the pixels in both directions compared to earlier Series 60 devices. This was dropped in later models in favor of the more common QVGA resolution.

The E70 was available in silver or black color schemes.

Variants

  • E70-2 (RM-24): US variant, released in September 2006 without 3G support.
