The Nokia 6280 (type RM-78, codenamed New York) is a Series 40 slider phone announced by Nokia in June of 2005 and released in Q4 of the same year.

The 6280 was one of the first phones to feature the 3rd edition of the Series 40 user interface, and was a mid-range 3G phone, featuring a front camera for video calls, storage expansion through a miniSD card, and a QVGA display.

Variants

  • 6282 (RM-79): US version of the 6280 with different bands.
  • 6288: Updated model of the 6280 with an upgraded battery, slightly revised design and comes with a 512MB miniSD card instead of a 64MB card with the 6280. Both 6280 and 6288 use the same type identifier. The 6288 was announced and released in 2006.
