The LG KU990, also known as the LG Viewty, is a 3G touchscreen mobile phone announced on August 23, 2007, and released in October of the same year.

The Viewty is considered to be an all-in-one photo-flagship phone, featuring a 5 MP camera with Schneider-Kreuznach optics, video recording capability at VGA resolution at 30 frames per second, and takes some of the design cues from the KE850 Prada, the world's first phone with a capacitive touchscreen. It was also the world's first phone to be capable of recording slow-motion video at 120 FPS.

It was available in Black, Dark Silver, Purple, Pink, Hot Red and White colorways.

Variants

  • LG KE990: 2G-only (GSM/GPRS/EDGE) version and thus lacks a videocall camera, but has a lens cover.
  • LG KU990i: Cost-reduced version of the KU990, removing the image stabilization system, replacing the strobe Xenon flash with an LED one, and using a different camera module.
  • LG U990: Version for Hutchison Three (3) in the UK.
